Poker

Basically, Poker is a game of chance. You will be dealt five cards and you must use those cards to make the best hand possible. The highest-ranking hand wins the pot. In Texas Hold’em, there are 52 cards, but in some games there are wild cards that can be used to add to your hand.

After the draw, the betting phase begins. Each player must wager a small amount of money. The dealer will cut the cards and place them in front of each player. The betting phase is then over, and the cards are turned face up.

The dealer will now deal a card to each player, one at a time. The first player to the left of the big blind is in the first-to-act position. He must post the big blind and small blind.

The first round of betting is followed by a second round. Each round is played clockwise. After each round, all but one player has the option to fold. If there are more than one caller, a showdown takes place.

After the showdown, the winning player takes the pot. In a tie, the high card breaks the tie. If two people have the same high card, the higher-ranking four of a kind wins.

The highest five-card hand is “nuts”. The best possible hand is determined by the first two cards. The two cards that do not pair are classified as Full Houses. These hands are difficult to beat.
