A full house is when you have three of a kind and a pair, for example K-K-K-5-5. Flush cards are five consecutive cards of the same suit, regardless of rank. A straight is when you have five cards of the same rank. Three of a kind and a pair are the highest two-card combinations you can make. In a straight flush, the jack of hearts and king of diamonds are the only cards that are displayed in profile.
The best hand is a pair of kings, and three-of-a-kind isn’t bad. Dennis raises the ante to twenty cents, and Brad calls. In this example, Dennis is the higher player. If Brad has three of a kind, he should call. This hand is stronger than Dennis’s, but it isn’t perfect. You can make your hand stronger by playing a few more hands.
The basic rules of poker are simple: the highest-card wins. In a game where two players have the same high-card, a high-pair hand wins. When there are multiple ties, the high-card wins. When no pair appears, a high-card wins. If the pair of kings is higher than the other two players’, the high-card wins. If you have a pair but a low-card hand, you win.
In a standard game of Poker, the player to the left of the button must post a small or big-button-sized blind. The purpose of the blinds is to give players something to chase. Otherwise, players would simply “blind off” and fold pre-flop. That’s why blinds are so important. Without them, there wouldn’t be any incentive to go all-in with an ace. But if you don’t have a blind, you can still win big.
